HI-FIVE HOOPS LEAGUE & CLINICS

PROGRAM INFO

HI-FIVE HOOPS LEAGUES & CLINICS (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)

Through outstanding coaching and officiating, we’ll help each child develop a foundation in fundamental team basketball…and prepare them for a life-long love of the game. Programs start with two weeks of "clinic" only sessions, then teams will compete in a total of 8 games including playoffs. A short practice will be conducted before each game and hoops will be lowered to an age appropriate level. Games are refereed and every player will receive equal playing time. Our League captures all of the fun and excitement of the NCAA tournament and the intensity of the NBA Finals!!

HERE'S HOW THE LEAGUE WORKS

Teams? Age Breakdown?
Teams are typically broken down by grade but we occasionally combine grades depending on the registrations we receive for that particular season. In the event that we combine age/grade groups it would only be a maximum of one year difference. 1st/2nd grade or Kindergarten/1st grade combination. We would never combine children with two years of difference.

Friend Request?
League parity is our primary goal. We evaluate all players and then create teams to be as balanced as possible. We allow for one friend request but cannot guarantee the children will be placed on the same team if it will disproportionately effect the balance of the league. Each request will be taken on a case by case basis.

General Schedule?
Our leagues are generally 10 weeks in length. The first two weeks are designated clinic sessions followed by one “scrimmage” or practice game. Five regular season games and two weekends of playoffs and championship typically round out the league season. Each week of the season we will spend the first portion of each session working on a particular skill that the staff feels deserves attention. The games will follow the practice session each week.

Playoffs? Do All Teams Make The Playoffs?
All teams make the playoffs and are seeded according to their regular season record. All teams are guaranteed a full 10 weeks of programming.

Team Creation Process?
We spend the first two weeks of the season evaluating the children based on overall ability. These evaluations are not shared with anyone outside our staff and are used to create teams that, when are at full strength, are balanced as possible.

Can My Child Play In A Division Outside Of Their Grade Or Age Group? Higher? Lower?
We do not allow children to participate in league outside of their grade/age level. A child may not “play up” with older children or “play down” with a league below their age/grade group.
