keep kids active, moving, involved and engaged
Hi-Five uses sports as a tool to promote positive character in our youth through our coaching. Our coaches create a safe and fun environment. We use positive reinforcement with all of our coaches and help children understand the “why” when playing sports. We are a low-pressure sports environment without yelling and screaming. We want to turn kids on to sports, and not off. We use sports for kid’s entertainment and keep kids active, moving, involved, and engaged.

OUR TEAM
Lorenzo’s passion for sports and leadership took root early in his childhood in Fresno, CA. Guided by his parents, Lorenzo Sr. and Gwendolyn, he grew up in a home where education, discipline, faith and athletics were core values. That foundation shaped not only him and his three sisters but also influenced the broader community around them. The commitment and consistency instilled throughout his youth carried all four siblings to collegiate athletics on scholarship.
His own journey led him to Colorado, where he played football for the University of Colorado and ignited his passion for the impact he can have on a community through youth engagement. For the past decade he has drawn on those same principles in his service as a Firefighter Paramedic. He deeply understands the impact that early engagement in sports can have on developing leadership, confidence, and character—qualities that support young people wherever life takes them.
Now, he has the privilege of passing that love for sports and leadership to the next generation, Lorenzo III. He looks forward to creating meaningful memories with youth across Denver and honoring the legacy of his late father by continuing to uplift the next generation through sports.
Jodi’s foundation in sports began while growing up in Iowa, where she first discovered the power of committing to a craft, practicing with intention, and understanding the role you play within a team. Her parents, Dick and Janelle, were constant sources of support and guidance, reinforcing a simple but lasting principle: you finish what you start. It didn’t take long for Jodi to realize she loved competition and the sense of accomplishment that comes from consistent effort and process.
That early foundation carried into her 20‑year corporate career, where she hired, developed, and led high‑performing teams. The same lessons she learned on the field—discipline, teamwork, accountability, and resilience—became the backbone of her leadership style.
Her passion for youth sports comes from seeing how these experiences shape long‑term success, no matter what path a young person eventually chooses. Regardless of a child’s starting skill level, participating in sports provides a roadmap for navigating emotion, challenge, reward, and consequence—skills that translate far beyond the game.
Jodi, as a bonus mom, has had the privilege of watching Lorenzo III fall in love with sports and looks forward to supporting parents as they build a strong foundation for their kids—one that is rewarding, supportive, and capable of making a lasting impact.
